Embracing the Vitality of Water

Unlocking the Refreshing Power of Summer

Water, Journal, Begin with Negin, Energy Management

Summer's cure for heat is water. As the sun reaches its highest position in the sky and we stretch into summer by collectively experiencing the summer solstice on Monday, honour the element of water and its vital role in your daily life.

What makes water so special? Besides the fact that we need it to survive. Did you know that water is considered the elixir and source of life? It covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, makes up nearly 70% of our bodies, and constitutes over 70% of our heart and brains. ”Water is flowing, receptive, adaptive - put it in a container and it will spread to fit. Summer is the perfect time to indulge in wild swimming. Swimming pools are all fine and good but nothing beats the refreshment of river, lake or sea bathing if that is logistically possible for you! Yes, it can be a bit messy and muddy. You know what else is underrated? Floating, that's right!  Truly, there is nothing more lovely than lying back in the water and watching the clouds or the stars. Pure heaven. The healing power of water, known as hydrotherapy, has a long and venerable history, and now science is finding out exactly why. Immersion in cool or cold water can decrease blood pressure, improve circulation, decrease levels of stress hormones and boost levels of happy hormones and soothe inflammation (no need to be all "Wim Hof" about it 🧊). Not bad for a dip, right? Blue mind science, the study of aquatic environments’ health benefits, could offer the cure for your blues, for free, wherever you may be.

Water is also elemental in many ancient traditions of cultures from around the globe. Bowls of water on altars, cleansing rituals and forest bathing are only a few examples where the element of water takes centre stage.

See you at the pool.

Your energy matters,

Negin
